Simon Cole, 22, was born and raised in England and over the years he has moved all over the country but now resides in London! From an early age Simon always showed special qualities that would one way or another lead him to his path in the entertainment industry, taking part in literally hundreds of shows. He sang and danced his way into the Jackie Palmer Stage School, which led to appearing in many commercials and amateur theatre shows. After leaving school at 16, the road to musical stardom led Simon to perform as an opening act on 2 mammoth arena tours with multi million selling Westlife, which was a dream come true for him. This was a fantastic opportunity of honing his onstage performance and a great way of growing in confidence as a musical artist. After 2 years of performing alongside the musical giants his road took a turn in a different direction – acting; something Simon accomplished in many musicals, plays and West End shows. He always knew he was going to be a multi-tasker and acting went well hand in hand with his passion for singing.
Simon ended up at Earls Court Arena, London one rainy day in October 2004 for the last stop of the open auditions for the popular teen show Hollyoaks (Channel 4) ; a countrywide televised search to find new stars for the show. Some 30,000 people later one boy and one girl were picked after rounds upon rounds of auditions; Simon was in and started work a short while after a blaze of promotion consisting of television, magazine and radio appearances.
Playing Jeremy “Jez” Peterson, the character was a newcomer to University halfway through the student year, and a comedic character at that. “Jez” was filthy rich and pretty much got away with what he wanted, getting into lots of scrapes along the way.
After 18 months with Hollyoaks, Simon decided to spread his wings, with the next step up the ladder beckoning. He is currently writing and recording his debut album, recording a pilot for a new TV show, starred in panto in Peterborough in 2006/2007, is in talks about a handful of other TV projects, and to top it all off, he’s writing his first novel. Is there no end to this man’s talents?
