Lee Latchford Evans first got the performing bug when he just 16 when he completed a 2 year course in performing arts. Another of Lee's passions was football and whilst he was completing this course he played footballer for his home town. When he had completed the course and got his Btec National Diploma in Dance and Drama, he got 2 fantastic offers. A scout for Wimbledon FC had been watching him and was very impressed with his football abilities, and he had been accepted into several theatre schools. So Lee then had a decision to make; of course he chose the showbiz route, and accepted his place at the Laine Theatre Arts School for 3 years where he trained as an actor, singer and dancer.

Then in 1997, he was offered a place in pop band Steps - who went on to sell over 12 million records world-wide, won numerous awards (including a Brit) and became one of the biggest touring bands the UK has ever seen. Steps, signed to Jive Records, home of the likes of Backstreet Boys and N*Sync, released 5 albums, one being after their demise, had two number one singles, with all but their first two singles being Top 5 hits, supported Britney Spears on tour in the States, performed on one theatre and four sell out arena tours, had several prime time one-off TV specials and performed at the Brits. During Steps Lee also landed a cameo role in the soap Crossroads, and showcased his presenting skills on numerous shows including Steps Into Summer, The Pepsi Chart Show, CD:UK, Jim Henson's Workshop, MTV and the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party. After 5 years at the top, Steps split on Boxing Day 2001, leaving a gaping hole in the market.

Not one to be kept quiet for long, in October 2002 Lee landed the role of Teen Angel in the West End production of Grease for 6 months, winning himself rave reviews and appearing before sell out crowds every night. He worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and took part in reality shows The Games for Channel 4, The Match for Sky One, and Commando VIP for Five and Bravo. Lee is now fronting his own band, The Latch who, although different to Steps in their musical genre, are somewhat similar with their determination, great live shows and the ability to stand out in a crowd. They have played numerous live shows, and Lee is now balancing this with a TV and acting career. Lee appeared on MTV's Totally Boyband in Sept/Oct 2006, from the makers of last year's smash hit show Totally Scott Lee - as part of a super boyband - Upper Street. The show followed the band for 6 weeks, ending with them releasing their debut single The One. Lee is now concentrating on his band The Latch - a wickedly tight live rock/pop band with high energy and plenty of fun. They released their first single, Miracle, in late 2007 and an album is set to follow. With years of live experience and industry knowledge behind them, The Latch are set to take 2008 by storm.
