James Fox was born in Bargoed, North of Cardiff and has had a passion for music since the age of 7. His first love was the piano, and then singing, the drums and guitar. He has always been involved with music, touring with school bands and pubs in the early days, and working on cruise ships, before he wanted a shot at the big time. He first shot to fame on the second series of BBC1's hit show Fame Academy, where his exceptional talent and boyish good looks earned him a respectable 4th position on the show. Fame Academy was very influential for James; he went on the show so he could get a chance to perform his own material, and after the show ended Song/BMG signed him up and he released Hold Onto Our Love, which charted at number 13. Other notable performances include performing at the Festival of Rememberance at the Royal Albert Hall in front of the Queen, representing the UK in Eurovision 2004 in Istanbul after winning the heats show Making Your Mind Up on BBC1 and supporting Liberty X and Lulu on their respective nationwide tours. James has entertained the troups in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, and from August 2004-February 2005 James landed the role of Judas in the national touring musical Jesus Christ Superstar, with the critics giving him outstanding reviews. James has recently just finished a 3 month stint on Broadway in the States, starring in Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp's musical "Movin' Out" which brings 26 Billy Joel classics to life told within a story, with James performing all 26 songs. This show was also brought to the West End and James played the coveted part of Piano Man during the spring of 2006. With all this under his belt in such a short amount of time, you know that James is going to be around for a long time to come. To book James for work, please email requests to info@unleashedpr.com |
