Donnaleigh Bailey 23, began attending acting classes at the early age of nine.  She attended the Central Junior Television Workshop which also gave us actors like Samantha Morton, Sarah Smart and Ryan Cartwright.  She stayed there for ten years doing children shows such as Wise Up, Scratchy and Co and many CITV adverts.  At the same time she also studied music at The Birmingham Conservatoire where she was taught singing, piano, violin and theory.  However acting was always her first love and at eighteen she applied for drama schools.  Whilst caught up in all this she got the part of 'Jenny' in Crossroads a psycho stalker!  She decided to take a gap year before going away to study and took the part in 'Crossroads'.  In this year she also had a guest appearance in Doctors as Jennifer Collins a girl with an eating disorder, and Holby City as Debbie Allen, a girl having difficulties with her pregnancy.  She then went of to do a three year BA course in acting at Sir Paul McCartneys drama school in Liverpool -LIPA.  A recent graduate, she has toured with a new writing show called Martha Loves Michael about an obsessive Michael Jackson fan, and a show at the new Unicorn theatre in London Bridge.

Soon after this Donnaleigh succeeded in gaining the part of Nurse Michelle Corrigan, a new arrival to Doctors, on weekday afternoons on BBC1. She is fun and feisty and adds some drama to the Mill Health Centre.  She doesn't "do diplomatic" and is very upfront with her opinions which often gets her into lots of trouble.  As a young practice nurse she has had to work very hard to get such a high position at a young age, and beyond her hard exterior is a kind girl. Michelle is sure to ruffle the feathers of the other doctors and nurses, and is certainly already stirring things up.  A girl to watch out for! Playing Michelle Corrigan so soon after graduating is a dream come true for Donnaleigh.  "It's an opportunity to play someone feisty and fearless with a bit of attiude!" she says.

Donnaleigh was nominated for 2 Soap Awards at 2007’s event - Best Actress and Sexiest Female. 2008 and beyond look only to further the success of this bright young actress.
